Where I’ve been all this time..

I made a commitment almost 18 months ago, I sold my home in Dallas and moved to Birmingham, AL to care for my mother (she refused to leave the home my father bought, believe me I asked) it wasn’t and still isn’t easy for me some days but I was built to do it.

Caregiver mode starts early everyday…seven days a week…there is no world that exists where my mom starts her day and I’m not involved.

The world that I create now is for her comfort and well-being first and foremost.

The commitment required to care for an Elder is substantial and not to be taken lightly but I’m 10 toes down in real life with my mother not just in talk but in action.

And one day if we are indeed lucky enough to become an Elder ourselves, we can set the tone now of how one who had lived a full life should be revered, honored, and cared for.
